We finally are able to provide nib customization with a focus on Italic grinded nibs. It was the next step in our journey to fill the gap for customized fountain pen nibs.

Pen & Beyond is offering this new customized Italic nib. With so many opinions and preferences surrounding nib shapes and sizes, we decided to create our own interpretation of the Italic grind. Our goal is to keep close to the characteristics of a Italic nib while making it more comfortable for everyday writing. The result is an Italic grind with softened edges that maintains its distinctive line variation without becoming overly demanding.

For this service, we pair our grind with the Asvine P20 or the Majohn P139 — two piston‑filling fountain pens that have proven to be reliable, well‑built, and perfectly suited to our nib work. We’re genuinely impressed with the quality these pens offer.

All writing samples were created using Pelikan Brilliant Brown ink on Member’s Mark notepads from Sam’s Club. Because ink and paper can significantly influence a pen’s performance, we chose materials that are affordable, consistent, and easy for anyone to obtain.
